There are many nice things we could say about the Kingsley: the rooms were comfortable (we were in the smallest room, which was cosy but nice), the breakfast was great, they offer free wi fi. John Calder is the charming landlord who always offers Kingsley guests a very special welcome. The Golden Pot is the perfect venue to enjoy a meal and a drink after a hard day, without having to drive.

The Golden Pot has a changing selection of cask ales predominately from local micro-breweries. For the second year running they have been acknowledged in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide.

Our guests have commented very favourably on the service, food and beer!

Plus, we stayed in the "George" room and my grandfather's name was George! Meant to be! We had so much fun here - a lively delightful family, plus the first ever tango night. "Yes! Valentines day, and what better way than for Natalie and I to wake up to an amazing breakfast, in an idyllic rural kitchen, in a famous building, being served by a charming and cheerful hostess who cannot seem to do enough to cater to your gargantuan appetite! Being welcomed at the gate, late in the evening on a dark and cold winter evening by the host was a special treat in itself. Bruno the beautiful, big dog, added to the unique and very special homely ethos of your place. Natalie will be spending the rest of the day, at least, in shock after I proposed to her at the breakfast table, on the day of love 2012. P.S. "Relaxation at the Kingsley.
The welcoming and friendly hosts kindly upgraded us to the best room in their house although all of the rooms at the Kingsley are charming and full of character.We loved the slipper bath in our room and all the features such as the quirky shaped rooms and fireplaces.It was a fine example of an edwardian villa.
Nothing was too much trouble for the hosts and it was helpful to have their advice when wanting to eat locally. Breakfast was relaxed and we had a good selection of breakfast such as cereals, fresh fruit and a cooked option. I am vegetarian and was offered a wide choice of food for my cooked option.

Perfect stay
Kingsley B&B is one of the best I've ever stayed at. The owners happily go out of their way to ensure your stay is to your satisfaction and are very friendly and welcoming. The rooms and facilities are to a high standard as is the food etc. Simply cannot fault. (Laterooms)
